MSU Board rejects former VC’s request for extension to vacate bungalow
February 03, 2025
Vadodara: The MS University Board of Management has turned down former Vice-Chancellor V K Shrivastava’s request for three months’ time to vacate the official bungalow. Shrivastava resigned last month while a petition challenging his appointment as VC in February 2022 was still pending in the Gujarat High Court.
The BoM, chaired by Chancellor Shubhanginiraje Gaekwad, served Shrivastava with a notice to vacate the bungalow by February 8th. He has also been asked to return the gadgets and services provided to him during his tenure as VC. A member of the Board stated that, as per usual practice, Shrivastava, who resigned on January 8th, has already been given a month to vacate the bungalow and complete the formalities.
On the other hand, MSU also decided to reintroduce the five-year contract system for selected teaching staff, which had been suspended since Shrivastava’s appointment. A member of the BoM mentioned that they also agreed to finalize the “unsigned” service books of the deans. DeshGujarat
