USD 19,000 Cash Recovered from Passenger’s Chappal at Ahmedabad Airport

Ahmedabad: A passenger was held at the Ahmedabad airport terminal – 2 on Wednesday with 19,000 Americal dollars concealed in his chappal. The passenger was about to board the Spice Jet flight SG015 scheduled at 4.41 pm to Dubai from SVPI airport. He had cocealed the dollars worth Rs. 16 lakh Indian Rupees in his chappal. Based on the information, the accused Mohammad Ilyas was checked thoroughly by the customs department staffers and the cash of 19,000 American dollars was recovered from his chappal. Mohammad was not arrested as the sum involved was lesser than Rs. 50 lakh value.DeshGujarat
