New Delhi: The ruling Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) on Thursday announced the list of election officers for the selection of state presidents and national council members across the country. Among those appointed, Union Minister Bhupender Yadav has been designated as the election officer for Gujarat.
Yadav is expected to visit Gandhinagar in the next seven to ten days to facilitate the election process, which will aim to select a successor for the current president, CR Patil, and other key office-bearers. According to party policy, Patil had announced his intention to step down as state party chief after assuming a ministerial position in the Narendra Modi Cabinet 3.0. Patil is a Lok Sabha MP from Navsari and holds the portfolio of Jal Shakti Minister.
State district presidents will gather in Gandhinagar to participate in the election or selection process for Patil’s replacement. The process is expected to take place after Uttarayan. DeshGujarat
