22nd Sattvik Food Festival Kicks Off Today at Bhagwat Vidyapith in Ahmedabad

Ahmedabad: 22nd Sattvik food festival is starting today (28 December) at Sola Bhagwat Vidyapith based ground, the same ground where it was held last year. The food festival will continue till 31st December. It will remain open during 11 am to 9 pm. There are 60 stalls catering traditional and conventional food dishes of over 400 varieties. In this edition of Satvik food festival, organized by Sristi, each stall will have atleast two food varieties made of millets.
SATTVIK the festival to celebrate traditional nutritious food and associated knowledge systems intends to provide market based incentives for conserving agro-biodiversity by creation of demand for rarely or less cultivated nutritionally rich crops and varieties may stimulate their cultivation. This festival aspires to put the lesser known but nutrient-rich food from various states on the plate of urban communities helping them to adopt healthier food habits and lifestyle. The festival also hopes to encourage the farmers to grow such crops and augment their incomes. Sattvik also hosts an innovation exhibition by National Innovation Foundation, and Gujarat Grassroots Innovation Augmentation Network. DeshGujarat
