Surat: SIAM Cement BigBloc Construction Technologies Pvt Ltd, a joint venture between Gujarat based BigBloc Construction Ltd and Thailand’s SCG International Corporation Co., Ltd., informed today that it has secured a work order from Tata Projects Ltd for supply and installation of AAC Panels for India’s first Semiconductor unit of Micron India in Sanand, Gujarat.

The work order of approx. 2 lakh square feet is for supply and installation of 100 mm AAC panels for Micron India’s semiconductor factory at Sanand. The work order was finalized after several rounds of meetings, thorough due diligence, and factory visits, including review of mock-ups. The work order is valued at Rs. 4.5 crore and is expected to be completed within three months.

This is the first mega order achieved by the SIAM Cement BigBloc Construction Technologies Pvt Ltd after commencing commercial operation of India’s first AAC wall plant at Kheda, Gujarat earlier in the year. With the vision of launching walling solution for the Indian market the joint venture invested around Rs. 65 crore in 2.5 lakh cubic meter per annum capacity for large-format AAC Wall products (8-20 feet long, 2 feet wide, and 3-8 inches thick). BigBloc Construction holds 52% in the joint venture company while 48% with SCG International. This is SCG Group’s first investment in India.

The plant was inaugurated by H.E. Ms Pattarat Hongtong, The Ambassador of Thailand to India, a Guest of Honour in the presence of senior officials from SCG International, BigBloc Construction on 10 June 2024.The AAC Wall are marketed under the brand name ‘ZMARTBUILD WALL by NXTBLOC’.

Naresh Saboo, Managing Director, BigBloc Construction Ltd said, “This unique product, introduced for the first time in the country by the joint venture consists of single AAC panels reinforced with steel, available in sizes ranging from 2 meters to 6 meters. This groundbreaking product not only ensures faster project execution but also offers superior fire resistance with a 4-hour fire rating. Sustainable and non-toxic building construction material, AAC blocks and AAC Walls are lightweight, soundproof, and fire resistant, offer superior build quality, eco-friendly and economical too compared to traditional bricks. With approval from both joint venture parties SCG and Bigbloc, the project has the potential to expand to 5 lakh cubic meter per year in the second phase.”
