Banaskantha: Stones were pelted at three private luxury buses full of pilgrims while they were traveling from Shakti Peeth Ambaji to Mehsana.
The stone-pelting incident occurred on Sunday night when the buses, carrying pilgrims, were targeted near Pansa village. The devotees were returning after their visit to the temple when the attack took place. The attackers shattered the front glass of one of the buses. Fortunately, all passengers were unharmed.
Local police were informed immediately. Following the incident, separate teams were formed to investigate those behind the stone-pelting attack. The police have also increased patrols in the area to ensure the safety of the pilgrims. The routes leading to Ambaji are surrounded by hilly terrain, which some anti-social elements are exploiting to carry out such attacks and escape. Due to these recent stone-pelting incidents, there is growing fear among devotees and locals, who have called for stronger security measures to prevent such occurrences in the future. DeshGujarat
