Arguments over fees for extra luggage; SpiceJet Ahmedabad – Jodhpur passengers post videos
December 15, 2024
Ahmedabad: A video has surfaced on X (earlier Twitter) in which the passengers of the Ahmedabad – Jodhpur SpiceJet flight can be seen arguing with the SpiceJet staffers over payment for extra weight of their cabin luggage.
Going through the videos, it is understood that the passengers with extra weight of cabin luggage are stopped by SpiceJet staffers from boarding the flight as these passengers are unwilling to pay extra charges for carrying more than permitted luggage. The passengers argued that their extra luggage should be shifted to check-in luggage. However the SpiceJet staffer explains that Check-in in closed an hour ago and it’s not possible to shift the extra weight to check-in now. The passengers said they were unwilling to pay extra as they were not carrying cash.

The passengers also allged that they were stopped at boarding gate and the reason in the computer was entered by staffers as ‘No Show’, while the fact was they were here for over an hour. It’s worth noting that when passengers carry extra luggage than permitted, they have to pay for it as per the well explained rules. The passengers can deposit their extra luggage during check-in easily. Small aircraft that operates between two small centres can’t carry too much luggage. The passengers habitual to travel in larger aircraft keep carrying extra cabin luggage, not realising that the flights to small centres use smaller aicraft that would have space crunch. DeshGujarat
