Woman constable killed in hit-and-run accident on Sabarmati river drive

Ahmedabad: A woman police constable lost her life in yet another hit-and-run incident in the city on Thursday.
Constable Sharda Dabhi, 28, was fatally struck by a speeding car on the Sabarmati Riverfront (East) road on Thursday afternoon while on duty. She was riding her scooter in police uniform and wearing a helmet when the accident occurred around 3:30 PM near the Sabarmati Riverfront (East) police station turn. Despite being rushed to Civil Hospital in Asarwa, she succumbed to her injuries later that evening.
Dabhi lived in Jamalpur’s Oont Chawl and was on her way to the Narendra Modi Stadium at the time of the accident. The B Division traffic police have filed a case under the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita and the Motor Vehicles Act, but the driver involved in the incident remains unidentified. DeshGujarat
