Gujarat to provide special leave for Rajasthani employees for by-polls
November 02, 2024
Gandhinagar: To enable Rajasthan voters employed in Gujarat to participate in the by-elections for two assembly constituencies, the Gujarat government has directed establishments regulated by the Gujarat Shops and Establishments Act to provide them a special leave in place of their weekly day off.
The instructions apply to voters from the Ramgadh constituency in Alwar district and the Choryasi constituency in Dungarpur district, where by-elections are scheduled for November 13.
According to an official release, individuals from these constituencies employed in various sectors—including local institutions, rural and nationalized banks, private and cooperative banks, state and central government offices, essential services like railways, telecommunication, postal services, shops, commercial establishments, hotels, industrial units, government hospitals, police stations, and fire services—must be granted a special leave on polling day, with alternate arrangements to ensure continuity.
