Gujarat Board Class 10 & 12 gen. stream to also have ‘best of 2’ option
October 11, 2024
Ahmedabad: The Gujarat Secondary and Higher Secondary Education Board (GSHSEB) has announced that it will apply the ‘best of two’ method to Class 10 and Class 12 general stream exams, just as it did for the Class 12 science stream. This system allows students to take supplementary exams for all subjects after the main exams, and the higher score from either exam will be used as the final result.
This change will start from the current academic year. Previously, supplementary exams were only available to students who failed specific subjects. However, since March 2024, students in the Class 12 science stream have been able to improve their scores using this method, where all subjects are tested in both exams, and the higher score counts.
The main exams for Classes 10 and 12 used to take place in March, while supplementary exams were held in July. With the new rules, the board is likely to determine the months for both types of exams, eliminating the specific scheduling of March and July.
