Mehsana: Mehsana will get Gujart’s fisrt Compressed Bio Gas (CBG) plant under Swachch Bahrat Mission. The proposal was cleared about two and half years ago for 30 TPD capacity plant at a cost of Rs. 4.41 crore.Mehsana Municipality will need to collect wet waste as a row material of this plant, for which food waste from the hotels and marketyard will be gathered. The gas generated fro the plant will be filtered and used as cooking gas. The plant will also generate power and fertilizer. As per an estimate, Mehsana municipality area generates daily 50 tonne wet waste useful as a row material for proposed GBC plant. Mehsana Municipality’s executive committee meet has handed over the task fot CBG project for which the Central government will bear 55% cost while the State government will contribute 45% cost. Out of 75 cities chosen for setting up such plant, two cities and Mehsana town are from Gujarat. DeshGujarat
