Rs. 5,017 crore for road infra, increase in income limit for Garib Kalyan Yojana; Gujarat CM in 15th August speech

Kheda: The state-level celebration of the 78th Independence Day was held today at the district headquarters Nadiad in Kheda. Chief Minister Bhupendra Patel hoisted the national flag and addressed the public.
In his address, Chief Minister announced that the government will allocate Rs. 5,017 crore to widen and strengthen roads, for further enhancing the road infrastructure in the state.
In another announcement, the CM stated that to include more people under the Pradhan Mantri Garib Kalyan Anna Yojana, the monthly income limit for needy NFSA (National Food Security Act) families will be increased to Rs. 20,000 from the current Rs. 15,000.
The CM also stated, “Prime Minister Modi, when he was the Chief Minister of Gujarat, had launched the Vanbandhu Kalyan Yojana with a provision of Rs. 1 lakh crore for the holistic welfare of tribals, which brought significant improvements to the lives of the tribal community. Following the success of that scheme, we have now launched Vanbandhu Kalyan Yojana – 2 2021 to 2026, again with a provision of Rs. 1 lakh crore.” DeshGujarat.
