Lady carrying 550 gram gold in body’s private part detained at Surat airport

Surat: 550 grams of gold contained in two capsules were found in the private parts of a lady who arrived at Surat airport from Dubai.
The lady, who arrived on an Indigo flight at around 5:30 pm, is from Pardi in the Valsad district. She was stopped by the Customs department staff on suspicion. It was found that she had visited Dubai four times in a year and returned.
During screening, it was realized that she had smuggled items in her private parts. With the permission of the court, her X-ray check was conducted. Two capsules were noticed in her private part in the X-ray report. The lady was produced in court the next afternoon. With the permission of the court, the capsules were recovered from her body. They contained 550 grams of gold worth Rs. 41 lakh.
As per the rules, if the recovered gold’s valuation is below Rs. 50 lakh, the smuggler is allowed to go after registering a statement. Accordingly, this lady was allowed to leave. – DeshGujarat
