May 18, 2024
Gandhinagar: As the target number of installation of Smart meters was achieved by Madhya Gujarat Vij Company Ltd (MGVCL), under the pilot project, the further installation has been suspended. The Government will restart fresh installations in future after monitoring and learning from the experience of already installed 27,000 smart meters. MGVCL has meanwhile decided that five percent check-meters will be installed in response to the misunderstanding that has prevailed among consumers. The consumers will then be able to compare the counts of old and new meters. MGVCL has also decided to explain in easy language the issue pertaining to misunderstanding among consumers. DeshGujarat
