Ahmedabad: A Mumbai-based businessman filed a complaint with the Chandkheda police on Monday, alleging that his brother-in-law and sister, both residing in the US, were deceived by a builder from Vasna.
Praful Maniyar (77) residing in Matunga (east) in Mumbai, stated in his FIR that his brother-in-law Deepak Shah and sister Meenakshi had engaged a builder named Narendra Gohil from Vasna in 2012 to purchase two flats in a residential project in Zundal. The couple paid Rs 36.80 lakh to Gohil on May 9, 2012, and received an allotment letter the following day. Within a year, the couple relocated to the US, granting Maniyar power of attorney for dealing with Gohil. However, Gohil allegedly evaded providing the original property documents even after Maniyar’s persistent requests.
Upon inquiry later, Maniyar found that Gohil had sold one flat to Parul Bhatt in 2018. Subsequently, Maniyar approached the Chandkheda police and lodged a complaint against the builder, accusing him of breach of trust and fraud. DeshGujarat
