Rajkot: Two individuals from Rajkot were apprehended by the Delhi Police last week for allegedly claiming to possess a nuclear bomb following dissatisfaction with the security screening process at the IGI Airport.
According to police reports, the passengers, identified as Jignesh Malan and Kashyap Kumar Lalani, expressed discontent with the necessity of undergoing security screening before boarding the Akasa Air flight to Ahmedabad on April 5th. The duo showed discontent with the security screening process at the boarding gate, questioning its necessity despite prior checks. Despite efforts by airport staff to clarify the security procedures, one of the individuals purportedly made the assertion about carrying a nuclear bomb.
Subsequently, the passengers were denied boarding the aircraft to ensure the safety of all passengers and the aircraft itself. A case was filed under sections 182 and 505 (1)(b) of the Indian Penal Code (IPC) on April 5th, after the complaint and subsequent investigation.
Further inquiries by the police revealed that the passengers were contractors in the construction industry in Rajkot. They had traveled from Gujarat to Delhi’s Dwarka to meet a business associate regarding the purchase of SS Railings material.
Both passengers were released on bail, and the investigation into the incident is ongoing. DeshGujarat
