Raj Shekhawat detained at Ahmedabad Airport
April 09, 2024
Ahmedabad: The Kshatriya community is holding statewide protests against BJP’s candidate from Rajkot Lok Sabha seat, Parshottam Rupala. In this relation, Gujarat Karni Sena President Raj Shekhawat had called upon Kshatriyas to besiege (Gherao) the Gujarat BJP Headquarters, Kamalam, at 2 pm today with saffron flags and sturdy sticks. However, this program has not been successful as Raj Shekhawat, who arrived at Ahmedabad Airport from Jaipur, has been detained by the crime branch team at the airport.
During the detention, Shekhawat had an altercation with the police. Additionally, when his turban accidentally got removed by a policeman while being taken to the police van, he became angry and shouted.
It is learnt that Shekhawat has been taken to the cybercrime office, where Karni Sena members have started gathering. Security has been increased by closing the gate of the cybercrime office. On the other hand, with a heavy security presence outside Kamalam, there seems to be no activity there, and the plan to besiege it seems to have failed.
Prior to his detention, Shekhawat made a video from the airport. He said, “I have come from Jaipur, sitting at Ahmedabad airport. There is a police presence arranged outside.”
Raj Shekhawat further stated, “I informed the government and the administration that if you prevent me and my Kshatriyas from reaching Kamalam, I will commit self-immolation. So do not force me. Clear the way for us to go to Kamalam to present the outrage we have. We do not want any interruptions. So, friends, we will do what we have said. This is a decisive fight, and we will achieve success in this fight. Your presence will make us successful, so let’s meet at Kamalam at 2 o’clock. Let’s see who wins.” DeshGujarat
