Kshatriya Asmita Mahasammelan held in Dhandhuka against Rupala’s remarks
April 07, 2024
During Sunday’s gathering, several community leaders, including Mahipal Singh Makrana, Sher Singh Rana, Karansinh Chavda, Padminiba Vala, Virbhadrasinh Jadeja, Yuvrajsinh Jadeja, P T Jadeja, Vasudevsinh Gohil, and Harpalsinh Chudasama, addressed the attendees.
Sher Singh Rana, the convener of the Rashtrawadi Janlok Party, told the media that Rupala’s apology carried a sense of arrogance. He stated that the agitation will not be confined to Gujarat alone and will be taken to other states as well. “The BJP may face repercussions in other states during the general elections if it refuses to replace Rupala as its candidate from Rajkot,” Rana remarked.
The BJP leader is under the heat from Kshatriyas for his statements at a March 22 event organized by the Dalit community. At the event, he remarked that foreign rulers, including the British, showed no mercy while persecuting, leading to kings eventually capitulating and forming alliances through marriage. These comments sparked widespread protests across the state. Despite Rupala issuing multiple apologies, community leaders warned of larger protests unless their demands were met. DeshGujarat
