Mumbai: Maharashtra Deputy Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis defended the state against criticism for losing projects to Gujarat, stating that the neighboring state is not Pakistan.
While addressing the India Global Forum, Fadnavis said, “We are in a very competitive federalism. There was a time when only 2-3 states were competing; today, there are 10 states in India that are competing, and I think we should welcome that. Because, see, a company going to Gujarat, Karnataka, or Delhi, it’s not Pakistan. It’s our nation; it’s our country.”
“However, we really want everyone to come to our state,”the BJP leader added while expressing Maharashtra’s eagerness to attract investments, focusing on improving both ease and cost of doing business. DeshGujarat
