Gram Panchayat passes resolution against proposed Nickle and Chromium mining in Bhiloda

Bhiloda: Anti-mining movement is taking shape in the areas of Bhiloda taluka’s Kundol, Pal, Bhanmer, Dhansor and Masota. One of gram panchayats has protested government’s move to start mining of minerals like Nickle and Chromium in this area.
The locals under the banner of Gram Panchayat gathered to protest central government’s move to initiate the tender process to award mining of mettles here. A gram panchayat of Kundol (Pal) passed a resolution against such move. The meeting of Panchayat was held after it was learnt that in the survey, Nickle and chromium were found under the surface and the government started process of mining.
Gram Panchayat has in its resolution informed the district collector that they oppose the tender process initiated on 29-11-2023 by central government’s mines and minerals department. Kundol has 6,000 population. The locals opine that mining could harm agriculture, land, environment and health in local area. DeshGujarat
