Surat: Navi Pardi based ice cream making plant of Sumul dairy will produce daily 3.50 lakh ice cream cone. Rs. 28 crore under-construction plant is going to be ready for operations by February 15.

The plant has capacity to produce annually 12 crore ice cream cones, of which 7 crore cones will be utilized by Sumul dairy, while 5 crore cones will be sold to other dairies through federation. The plant is going to be inaugurated anytime in later half of February or early March.

Sumul has ambitious plan of erecting solar plants over 750 of its 1200 mandlis. So far solar system has been fitted at 80 mandlis. This will reduce the expenditure over electricity at mandlis(local milk producing groups).
