AAP MLA Chaitar Vasava granted conditional bail; Not allowed in Narmada district

Narmada: The district court on Monday granted conditional bail to Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) MLA from Dediapada, Chaitar Vasava, in connection with a case of extortion, firing, and assault on forest officials at his residence in Bogaj village under his constituency.

The AAP leader, who surrendered on December 14th after being on the run for over a month, was granted bail by the court of Principal District and Sessions Judge N. R. Joshi. Vasava has been granted conditional bail and will be released from Rajpipla jail tomorrow, January 23rd.

According to the conditions set for bail, the Dediapada MLA is not allowed to enter the Narmada district until the trial in the case is over. He is allowed to stay anywhere else, for which he will need to submit the address and contact details.

The court also noted that even though bail has been granted, the issue remains unresolved. Vasava will have to submit his passport in court and is not allowed to leave Gujarat. The AAP leader will have to be present at Dediapada Police Station on the first of every month physically or virtually until the chargesheet is filed.

Vasava was booked after a complaint by the forest department staffers against him, one of his two wives, his secretary, and another person for allegedly threatening forest department officials and firing a shot in the air at his residence on October 30. DeshGujarat
