Gujarat Maritime Board to construct a breakwater and jetties for Indian Navy

Porbandar: The Gujarat Maritime Board (GMB) is set to construct a breakwater and two jetties for the Indian Navy in Porbandar and Dwarka, with an estimated cost of Rs 1,038 crore.
An MoU has been signed between the Indian Navy and GMB. According to this agreement, GMB will oversee the construction of a breakwater and a jetty in Porbandar, along with an additional 600-meter-long jetty in Okha, Dwarka. The total projected cost for both projects is Rs 1,038 crore.
A breakwater, an artificial offshore structure for protection against tides and waves, will span 2,500 meters on the eastern side of the existing breakwater at Porbandar.
The project is scheduled for completion by the end of 2026.
In Okha, a 100-meter-long jetty is planned for smaller crafts and Navy boats, with completion expected by the end of 2028. DeshGujarat
