Unseasonal rain, strong winds: Kartiki Purnima fair at Somnath declared over one day early

Prabhas Patan: Kartiki Purnima fair near Somnath mandir has been declared over, earlier by one day due to unseasonal rain and strong winds.
Kartiki Purnima fair which is being celebrated at Somnath Gitamandir helipad Ground was as per its original schedule going to end tomorrow(Monday). However due to unseasonal rain, the stalls, dome, poles, etc suffered damages this morning.
The district administration, Shri Somnath Trust and district police decided to end the fair one day early today in view of the safety of shop owners and visitors. However, the Somnath Mandir will continue to remain open for Maha Aarti on Kartiki Purnima night.
It’s worth noting that some major fairs are happening across Gujarat at present. Over a million people are participating in Girnar lili parikrama in Junagadh, while a large open fair, one of the largest in North Gujarat is taking place in the river bed of Saraswati in Sidhpur.
