CPR training for Gujarat teachers on December 3 and 17
November 23, 2023
Gandhinagar: In response to a rising number of heart attack incidents among students and school employees, the state education department has taken the initiative to provide CPR training for teachers. This training aims to equip them with the skills to perform cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR) during emergencies, offering a crucial lifesaving intervention before the arrival of paramedics.
State Education Minister Kuber Dindor announced on Wednesday that training camps will be conducted at 37 medical colleges in 14 locations across the state on December 3 and 17.
Speaking at an event held at Godhra Civil Hospital, the minister highlighted that approximately 2,500 medical experts affiliated with the Indian Society of Anesthesiologists will be leading the training sessions. The target is to train 1.75 lakh teachers, principals, and other school staff members in CPR techniques. Performing CPR while awaiting an ambulance significantly increases the chances of a patient surviving a heart attack. DeshGujarat
