Shubman Gill’s parents, sister meet former Gujarat Chief Minister

Gandhinagar: The parents and sister of the Indian Cricket team member Shubman Gill who also plays for Gujarat Titans in the Indian Premier League today called on former Gujarat Chief Minister and Bharatiya Janata Party(BJP) leader Vijaybhai Rupani at latter’s residence in the State capital Gandhinagar.
The family members of Shubman Gill, a right-hand top-order batsman from Punjab are in Gujarat to witness the final match of International Cricket Council(ICC) Men’s one day world cup which is to be played on Sunday, November 19 at world’s largest cricket stadium, Narendra Modi stadium at Motera in Ahmedabad. Shubman with other members of Indian cricket team arrived on Thursday evening in Ahmedabad. The Indian cricket squad is staying at Hotel ITC Narmada.
Rupani is incharge of Punjab unit of BJP. Here therefore pays frequent visits to Punjab. In this reference, the family members of Shubman who are from Punjab met Rupani. Shubman’s father Lakhwinder Singh, is an agriculturist and aspired to become a cricketer. He hails from Fazilka, a small village on the India-Pakistan border. Shubman’s mother Keart Singh is a home maker. Shubman’s sister Shahneel Gill is an active Instagrammer.
Rupani in his Facebook post stated: ‘On November 19, 2023, when the final match of the Cricket World Cup-2023 is going to be held between India and Australia, the best performing player in the Indian team, Punjab province player Shubman Gill’s parents and sister, visited to my Gandhinagar residence. I congratulated Shubman Gill on his excellent performance and wished victory of Indian team in the final match.’ DeshGujarat
