November 17, 2023
Ahmedabad: The ICC Cricket World Cup finale is set to unfold at the Narendra Modi Stadium in Motera. As India clashes with Australia for the world title, around 1.25 lakh spectators will be in attendance at the world’s largest cricket stadium. If you’re among those attending the match, here are some crucial points to remember for a hassle-free and enjoyable experience.
1. Avoid Carrying Items : – Do not bring anything, including AirPods, earphones, power banks, and cables. Compact items like lipsticks, lip balms, and sunscreens will also be confiscated. Only your mobile phone and flags are allowed. Don’t carry shades’ covers; wear your shades on your head.
– Anything other than a mobile phone or flags is prohibited inside the stadium premises, as in some instances in the past, spectators threw items such as water bottles on the players.
2. Locker Facility : – In case you have valuables not allowed inside the stadium, you can use the locker facility provided by local houses in the area for an amount such as Rs. 500. Consider using them or leave your belongings in your car or hotel, especially if staying for the closing ceremony.
3. Cash is Essential : – Carry sufficient cash, as items inside the stadium can be expensive, and not every vendor will accept digital payments. Water bottles inside the stadium may cost Rs 100-200. Purchase a plastic bottle on your way in.
4. Order Food in Advance :- If you anticipate hunger, order food in advance to avoid missing crucial moments during the match. Or you can enjoy some snacks being sold in the stadium.
5. Be Cautious with Street Vendors: – Avoid buying items from street vendors who sell mementos before the match, as they might be confiscated at the gate. If you want souvenirs, try buying them after the match has concluded.
6. Stay Hydrated : – The cricket board has made provisions for water at multiple counters in the stadium complex, but as there will be hundreds of people trying to get water, be careful and considerate during the queues. Carry your water from those stalls to your seats, as vendors in the seating area may not sell water during their rounds.
7. Parking : – Ample parking space is made available with 15 parking lots, but slots need to be booked through the designated parking app. It is noteworthy that the authorities will levy heavy fines on people not following the parking rules.
