Vadodara likely to get Vande Bharat Express connecting it to Pune

Vadodara: While three Vande Bharat Express trains are currently operational in Gujarat, all originating from Ahmedabad, the city of Vadodara is likely to have a Vande Bharat Express train, originating from the city. Railways mulls to operate a new Vande Bharat Express train connecting Vadodara in Gujarat to Pune in Maharashtra.
Prior to the final decision on this, a trial run will be conducted between Vadodara and Vasai Road. Although the date for the trial run is not finalized, the trial train’s schedule indicates departure from Vadodara station at 4:35 in the evening, arriving at Vasai Road at 8:40 PM. On the return journey, the train will depart from Vasai at 11:37 AM, reaching Vadodara at 3:30 PM, covering a total distance of 344 km in four hours and ten minutes.
This train is expected to ease travel for people commuting from Surat to Vasai, as it will pass through both places.
