Religious conversion allegations on Christians are false: AAP MLA Chaitar Vasava
October 16, 2023
Narmada: Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) MLA from the Dediapada constituency, Chaitar Vasava, while addressing a Christian community event in Navapur Village at the Gujarat-Maharashtra border, stated all allegations regarding conversion on Christian community are baseless.
During his speech at the Christian society’s annual convention, Vasava said, “Today, in Gujarat and in India, the most allegations regarding religious conversion are made against the Christian community. These allegation of religious conversions are entirely false and baseless. You and I both know that in the constitution, there are provisions that anyone can follow any religion in this secular country.”
Vasava further said that once a person reaches the age of 18, they are considered to be of legal age and can decide which religion to follow. Therefore, allegations of forced conversion are entirely unfounded.
Vasava also mentioned that the government did not grant permission for the Christian convention to take place, resulting in a change of venue to Maharashtra Border.
Talking about this, Vasava said, “As a legislator, I am saddened about the fact that no permission was given for the convention, but in the coming days we will show the government who the Christian community is. The Shaurya Yatra in Selamba can take place without permission, but permission is required to hold a convention of a Christian society, and even if permission is denied, then this government should be uprooted and thrown away.” DeshGujarat
