Gujarati folk singers perform at G20 Gala Dinner

New Delhi: At the gala dinner hosted by President Droupadi Murmu for world leaders on the evening of the first day of the G20 summit, India showcased its diverse musical heritage to the world. It witnessed the use of traditional music from all across the country. The key highlight was ‘Gandharva Atodyam’. It is a unique musical medley featuring an exquisite symphony of musical instruments from across Bharat, showcasing Hindustani, Carnatic, folk, and contemporary music with an ensemble of classical instruments.
Gujarati folk singer, who performed at the gala dinner hosted by President Droupadi Murmu yesterday, said, “I am extremely thankful to PM Modi for selecting my song, and this is a very happy moment for me that our Gujarati culture and our folk music have been displayed on such a huge stage… This was a surprise and a gift for me to know that my song would be played in front of PM Modi and President Droupadi Murmu.”

Another Gujarati folk singer, Urvashi Radadiya, who performed at the gala dinner hosted by President Droupadi Murmu yesterday, said, “As a singer, this is a very proud moment for me to be able to present Gujarati folk music on an international platform. I want to thank our Prime Minister Narendra Modi for giving us the opportunity to present Gujarati culture to the world.”
