Ahmedabad records 201 Dengue cases in July; 84 in first 5 days of August

Ahmedabad: The city is witnessing a persistent rise in cases of Dengue fever. According to the data released by AMC’s health department about illnesses transmitted by vectors, a total of 201 cases of dengue were documented in city hospitals and urban health centres in the span of July 1 to 31. This represents the highest number recorded in the last seven months.
Over the past 36 days, the data indicates that city hospitals have registered a total of 284 dengue cases. Moreover, in the initial five days of August, there have already been 83 instances of dengue reported.
During the period of August 1 to 5, hospitals reported 24 malaria cases, two cases of falciparum, 255 cases of diarrhea, 28 cases of jaundice, 114 cases of typhoid, and eight cholera cases. Additionally, three cases of chikungunya were also documented. The health department of the municipal corporation inspected 399 business establishments in the city to assess the presence of mosquito breeding sites.
