Guinness Book team in Surat to verify the world record of 1.25 lakh people performing Yoga

Surat: A team from the Guinness Book of World Records will remain present in Surat tomorrow, on World Yoga Day, to verify the world record of 1.25 lakh people collectively participating in yoga.
The state-level celebration of World Yoga Day in Gujarat will be held in Surat city. It is estimated that approximately 1.25 lakh people will join the yoga session at Y Junction in the city as part of the celebrations. As of Monday morning, over 1 lakh people have already registered for the event. A total of 135 blocks have been set up at the event venue, with around 1000 people expected to perform yoga in each block. Additionally, separate blocks will be designated for school students, and approximately 20 thousand students from 42 private schools will be participating in the celebration.
The event will take place on the Y Junction BRTS route, where a green carpet will be laid. Buses will not be operational on this route tomorrow.
To ensure accurate counting, a team of 8 to 10 representatives from the Guinness Book of World Records will be present in Surat. The administration will assign 2500 volunteers to assist the team with the counting process. Each participant will be given a belt by the Guinness Book members, and the participants’ count will be recorded by scanning the barcode on the belt. DeshGujarat
