Kesar mangoes of Junagadh reaching the world as season sets

Junagadh: As many as 400 boxes of Kesar mangoes from Talala in Saurashtra are exported to London in the United Kingdom via air cargo, as the season of Kesar mango this year has begun.
Talala market yard chairman informed that it will take two days for the mangoes to reach the storage in London from Ahmedabad via air-cargo. The pre-cooling, grading, and hot water treatment will be given to these mangoes ahead of export.
He said, twenty tons of Kesar mangoes are already exported so far this year. One box of 3-kg Kesar mango will be sold at 14 pounds, equivalent to around Rs 1400 in London, he added.
Last year, 130 tons of kesar mangoes were exported to the UK, Singapore, Muscat, Mauritius, and Canada. Around 1200 kg of Kesar mangoes have been exported so far to the UK from the pack house. Around 150 ton Kesar mangoes are likely to be exported to the UK, Mauritius, Canada and other countries during the season this year. DeshGujarat
