Diversion on Ahmedabad-Bhavnagar route due to Dholera expressway construction
April 14, 2023
Ahmedabad: The Ahmedabad district magistrate has issued a notification for passengers travelling from Ahmedabad to Bhavnagar, informing them about the use of diversions on the Ahmedabad-Dholera route due to ongoing construction work on the Dholera highway.
Passengers travelling between Ahmedabad and Bhavnagar typically use the Dholera route. However, due to the construction work on the Dholera highway, a diversion has been put in place via Dhandhuka for those travelling from Ahmedabad to Bhavnagar, and via Vallabhipur for those travelling from Bhavnagar to Vadodara. The notification will remain in effect until December 12, 2023. Separate diversions have also been provided for the villages on the Dholera expressway. The authorities have warned that strict action will be taken against those who violate the notification.
Congress leader Shaktisinh Gohil has criticized the sudden closure of the short route between Bhavnagar and Ahmedabad, calling it a ‘Tughlaqi decision’. “The 80-km diversion is not fair, and he and his party demand that the decision be reconsidered”, Gohil added. DeshGujarat
