3-year jail to a man in rural Bhavnagar for killing Chinkara

Bhavnagar: A person named Sumra Ilyas Sama alias Munno Ilyas has been given three-year imprisonment and Rs. 10,000 fine by a local court in Mahuva in Bhavnagar district. Sumra was nabbed by the Forest department for the killing of chinkara animal. In the year 2010, the forest department had searched a farm in Nana Asarana village and recovered body parts of Chinkara, a protected wild animal. Sumra Ilyas from the same village was detained and a case was filed against him. Additional Judicial Magistrate Viplav Teraiya’s court after hearings gave 3 years simple imprisonment to Sumra and Rs. 10,000 fine. DeshGujarat
