Gandhinagar Police nabs a stalker for assaulting married women colleague

Gandhinagar: Women’s Police on Wednesday arrested a 26-year-old man in Sector 7 of Gandhinagar for allegedly stalking, molesting and assaulting his 25-year-old colleague as she rejected his relationship proposal.
According to the police, the accused Nitin Valani assaulted, molested and threatened the woman near a commercial complex in Sector 4 on February 2. CCTV footage of the incident went viral on social media.
As per the complaint filed by the victim, she and the accused used to work in private coaching classes and after becoming friends the accused pressurised her for a relationship. Complainant denied Valani’s proposal as she was already married, to which Valani threatened her saying that he will kill her husband.
On February 2, while the complainant was on her way to work, Valani assaulted her in public and even molested her. After escaping Valani, the woman with her husband filed a complaint at the Women’s police station on Tuesday.
The police are now investigating the matter. DeshGujarat
