Congress – NCP alliance on three seats in Gujarat elections 2022

Gandhinagar: The opposition Congress party and Sharad Pawar-led Nationalist Congress Party (NCP) have joined hands once again for the State assembly elections in Gujarat. In a joint press conference held today, State Congress chief Jagdish Thakor and NCP chief Jayant Patel made this announcement.
We're a part of UPA, we've been contesting elections together in Maharashtra. Similarly, in Gujarat too we'll (Congress-NCP) be contesting together. As per the announcement, both parties will jointly contest the election on three seats, namely Umreth, Naroda, and Devgadh Bariya. Sitting NCP MLA Kandhal Jadeja is not going to get NCP tickets if Congress is not convinced of that, Jayant clarified in replies to the media queries and added that if any NCP member other than three decides to contest independently, he/she will not be supported by NCP.
