Congress MLA Bhagwanbhai Barad joins BJP

Gandhinagar: Bhagabhai Barad, Congress legislator from Talala seat has resigned from the party and also from the State assembly to join the ruling Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP). This is the second MLA to leave Congress and join BJP in 24 hours. Gujarat is going to witness the regular election of the State assembly in the first week of December.
Bhaga Barad had a day ago called the meeting of his supporters in Talala constituency and consulted them on his future political path. Barad today submitted his resignation to the State Assembly Speaker and reached BJP office to join the party.
Barad belongs to Ahir community. He is the brother of the late former MLA Jashabhai Barad. Jashabhai and Bhagwanbhai Barad’s father Dhanabhai Barad was also a Congress leader. Bhaga Barad is MLA since 2017. He had won the last election with a margin of 31,730 votes.
Yesterday, another Congress MLA Mohansinh Rathwa, the senior most MLA in the State Assembly of Gujarat joined BJP after quitting Congress. DeshGujarat
