Gujarat govt declares Rs. 630 crore relief package over damage to Kharif crops

Gandhinagar: Gujarat government todays declared a relief package of Rs 630 crore for farmers over damages to the Kharif crops due to heavy rains this year during monsoon.
According to the government, over 8 lakh farmers will get the benefit of the relief package. The relief will be given for the damages to the crops in around 9.12 lakh hectares of area. After the assessment of damages to the crops in 2554 villages of affected 50 talukas in 14 districts, the farmers who faced damages of 33 percent or above will get the benefit of the relief package. Total 50 talukas of Chhota Udepur, Narmada, Panchmahal, Navsari, Valsad, Dang, Tapi, Surat, Kutch, Junagadh, Morbi, Porbandar, Anand, and Kheda are covered under this move. The farmers will not have to pay any fee or cost to make an application. The state government will bear the expenses for the same. DeshGujarat
