Gujarat Biotechnology University gets an additional 13 acres of land

Gandhinagar: The Gujarat government has accepted the Proposal of the Science and technology department to allocate additional land to Gujarat Biotechnology University.
An additional 13 acres of land will be given to GBU for its campus in GIFT city Gandhinagar. In 2019, The state government allocated 10 acres of land to the university after passing the Gujarat Biotechnology University act 2018.
The previously allocated 10 acres of land accommodates the main academic building, library, faculty, and administrative offices that are ready to use.
According to the sources, the Government has further allocated 13 acres of which 2.2 are set aside for the development of the GBRC campus, an incubation center, greenhouse, open farm facility, animal house, and a high-end research block will come up here in future.
GBU is world’s first biotechnology university, which in collaboration with the University of Edinburgh (UoE), will emerge as the country’s leading destination for biotechnology research and postgraduate teaching.
