Mehsana: The underpass road constructed at a cost of Rs 147.20 crore at Modhera crossroads in Mehsana will be inaugurated by Chief Minister Bhupendra Patel tomorrow. The project was approved by BJP leader, Nitin Patel, during his tenure as deputy chief minister.

The vehicles from Gayatri Mandir, Modhera Road, Rajkamal Road and Radhanpur all converge at the Modhera crossroads and the aim of constructing this long and broad underpass is to ease the traffic snarls, which lead to higher fuel consumption and loss of man-hours.

Former deputy chief minister Nitin Patel, Prabhari Minister, Jagdishbhai Vishwakarma, health minister, Rishikesh Patel, Lok Sabha MP, Shardaben Patel, Rajya Sabha MP, Jugalji Thakore and Karsanbhai Solanki will remain present on the occasion of the inauguration.

After the underpass is inaugurated, the ST buses coming and leaving from the Mehsana ST depot, the traffic on the highway and the traffic at the Modhera crossroads will be diverted by the underpass. Thus, the years-old issue of traffic at Modhera crossroads will come to an end.
