Ahmedabad: Water Sports will be a major attraction at Ahmedabad’s Sabarmati Riverfront during the National Games which Gujarat is going to host later this year. Sabarmati Riverfront will be the likely venue for sporting activities such as water polo, boating, dragon boat racing, water basketball, canoeing, and water skiing during the National Games.

Only qualified teams such as Railways and Army will participate in these events. The Indian Olympic Association (IOA) has given their approval for holding water sports at the Riverfront.

Even a special camp will be organized for participants from Gujarat to ensure they perform well at the National Games.

Gujarat will host the National Games for the first time in its history and over 20,000 sportsmen and women are expected to participate in the event from all over the country. The event will be held between September 27 and October 10. Sports events will be hosted across six cities of Gujarat as part of the National Games.
