Rajkot – Okha railway track electrification completed

Rajkot: The team of the Central Organisation of Railway Electrification (CORE) has completed the electrification work of a 220-km railway line of a single track between Rajkot and Okha.
The testing in this regard was conducted by operating an engine twice at the speed of 110 kmph on this stretch and it was successful according to railway officials.
As per an estimate, about Rs 100 crore can be saved every year due to the electrification work on this stretch. Railways department intends to complete the double-track work between Rajkot to Surendranagar on Ahmedabad – Kanalur route by December 2022. DeshGujarat
