108 Emergency service receives extra ordinary number of calls during kite flying festival

Gandhinagar: The 108-ambulance service received a total 3830 calls in the state on the festival of Uttarayan, out of which 245 calls were for the emergency treatment for injuries due to kite strings.
There is an increase in the calls to 108- ambulance service in the state this year compared to the previous year. The number of calls to 108-ambulance service was 3359 in the year 2021 on Uttarayan. Out of the 245 calls regarding the injuries due to kite strings, the highest number of calls were reported in Ahmedabad which was 75 calls. Rajkot reported 28 calls and Surat and Vadodara reported 27 calls each to 108 ambulance services regarding the injuries due to kite strings. One youth, admitted to Ahmedabad civil hospital, had cuts in his vein in the hand due to a kite string. DeshGujarat
