Narcotic drugs from all over India will come to NFSU Gujarat for analysis: Shah to inaugurate facility

Gandhinagar: Union Home Minister Shri Amitabhai Shah will inaugurate the Centre of Excellence for Research and Analysis of Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances (NDPS) at National Forensic Sciences University (NFSU), Gandhinagar on Monday, 12th July, 2021. He will also visit other Labs and Centres of Excellence of the University. Home Minister, Amitbhai Shah will remain present in a Virtual Training program related to Investigation of Crime Against Women.
The Centre for Excellence also has state-of-the-art drug detection scientific equipments. As a result, information as to from which part of the world has the drug been infiltrated into India, will also be available. In addition, drugs from all over India will also be brought here for analysis. After its analysis, its definite place of origin will be known and its profiling will also be carried out.
The Centre of Excellence will also host short-term training programs for Law Enforcement Agencies (LEA), Judiciary Officers etc. Nationally and Internationally. The certificate will be given to the trained Officers by this Centre of Excellence.
The Centre of Excellence for Research and Analysis of Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances-NFSU, Gandhinagar has been accredited by the Union Home Department of the Government of India.
During this occasion Chief Minister, Vijaybhai Rupani, the Minister of State for Home, Pradeepsinh Jadeja, the Union Home Secretary-Govt. of India, Mr. Ajay Kumar Bhalla and the Vice Chancellor of NFSU, Dr. J. M. Vyas will remain present.
The Centre of Excellence is being developed under the guidance of the Vice-Chancellor, the National Forensic Sciences University (NFSU), Dr. J. M. Vyas. This Centre of Excellence will identify narcotic drugs and psychotropic substances as well as carry out research activities related to them.
