Gujarat govt asks bonded doctors to join pandemic duty or face action

Gandhinagar: Commissioner of Health, Gujarat, Jayprakash Shivahare has ordered the bonded doctors of Government and GMERS run medical colleges in the state to report mandatorily on immediate basis on pandemic duty. The collectors and municipal commissioners of all districts are instructed to take actions under section-3 of Epidemic Act, if the bonded health-professionals don’t remain present at their appointment locations by 26th April 2021.
As per the order, total 513 candidates of Government medical colleges, 136 candidates of Government medical colleges, thus total 593 candidates are asked to remain present in context of their appointments issued as Medical Officer Class-2 according to the press-release.
This order is issued by Health Commissioner Jayprakash Shivahare considering lack of human resource to treat the Covid-19 patients and urgent requirement of doctors amidst the emergency situation.
