Hit by Covid-19 related complications, Rajya Sabha MP Abhay Bhardwaj air lifted to Chennai

Rajkot: Rajya Sabha member and BJP leader Abhay Bhardwaj has been taken to Chennai in a chartered plane for treatment of lungs. Bhardwaj was admitted to Government run Civil hospital in Rajkot after he was tested positive for Covid-19 in the last week of August. His condition continues to be critical but stable and he is surviving on various external supports including artificial lung support for last over two weeks. Three doctors including Dr. Oza from Mumbai were with Bhardwaj in chartered flight along with Abhaybhai’s son Ansh and his brother Nitin Bhardwaj. Abhaybhai’s treatment in Chennai will be under Dr. Bala who is considered super specialist who successfully treated a Covid patient from Surat with 90 per cent damaged lungs through transplantation. According to Nitin Bhardwaj, Abhaybhai has been tested Covid negative. While his all other organs are functioning well, the only issue is with his lungs at present.
