Police file FIR in NSUI – ABVP clash case

Ahmedabad: Paldi police has registered complaint under IPC section 143, 147, 148, 149, 188, 324 and 323 over RSS students wing Akhil Bharatiya Vidyarthi Parishad (ABVP) and Congress students wing National Students Union of India (NSUI) involved in violence outside Ramesh Corporation show room near Paldi char rasta at 11.45 am on Sunday.
First Information Report (FIR) draft reads that police received input that NSUI workers may gherao ABVP office in Paldi gam over attacks on students in Delhi based JNU. NSUI had not sought any permission from police and none such permission was granted. As per input received from Ahmedabad city police control room, cops from Paldi, Satellite, Anandnagar including Satellite PI PD Darji and ACP of N Division had done nakabandi on the roads to ABVP office. At 11.45 am, 20-25 NSUI workers came to public road outside Ramesh Corporation on NID – Paldi char rasta road. At the same spot, ABVP’s 20-25 workers also arrived. Both groups involved in verbal arguments following which PI PD Darji, ACP Divya Raviya Jadeja of N division, PSI MM Sindhi, Head constable Prakash, Lok Rakshak Tarun, Hitesh, Arvind, Manu and Head constable Dipsinh and others cops rushed there. Both group members had sticks and pipes and they were attacking others. Necessary baton charge was done and both groups were separated. Both groups had tried to stop vehicles on NID – Paldi road and created ruckus upto Paldi char rasta. Members of both groups had suffered injuries. While NSUI workers without any prior permission held rally, dharna, gherao programme and formed illegal gathering with sticks and pipes, ABVP workers also formed illegal gathering with sticks and pipes in hands. Both breached public peace and breached notification of city police commissioner.
The FIR draft doesn’t mention any particular name of accused or victims.
