July 24, 2019
Palanpur: A local court in Deesa town of Banaskantha district in North Gujarat today issued a nob bailable warrant against Thakor Sena outfit chief and former MLA Alpesh Thakor who had recently joined BJP after deserting Congress.
Additional Chief Judicial Magistrate court issued the warrant in connection with a defamation suit filed by the then district superintendent of police Neeraj Badgujar in April last year. It was issued because Thakor did not appear in the court for past several dates.
The then SP had filed the case alleging that the then Congress MLA had made defamatory remarks against him while addressing locals in a village in the district. He had also submitted a video clip of the speech, which showed that Thakor the then MLA of Radhanpur in neighbouring Patan district was accusing him of taking bribes from bootleggers ie those in to illicit liquor business.
Meanwhile, Alpesh and his aide Dhavalsinh Zala were spotted at State BJP headquarters Kamalam to meet party’s state general secretary (organization).
