By staff writer, Gandhidham (Kutch): In an incident that has refreshed the memory of the alleged groundnut procurement scam of 2017, sacks of groundnut mixed with large quantity of soil were found in a godown here today.
A team of market yard merchants raided one Shanti godown here where sacks filled with soil mixed groundnut were found.
The raid was conducted on the information by the president of Saurashtra Marketing Yard Merchants Association Atul Kamani.
The groundnut was procured at MSP by union government deputed agency.
Similar sacks were also reportedly found in some other godowns where sale of ground nut was going on.
Notably, in 2017, after fire in several godowns, a large scam in groundnut procurement had come to fore during investigation by CID crime SIT.
